We're using Windows 7, so I checked with our IT department. Here is the response:

Eileen,

The program gets installed to the C:\Program Files\Alice 2.3. I then copy the shortcuts to the following folder that is accessible to all users in the start menu - C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Course Programs\Computer Science\Alice 2.3. Please note that the folders after the Programs folder may vary depending on what the user want to call them. Also, the Program Data folder is hidden by default. You must unhide the folder by going to the C: drive and click on Organize (menu option at top of window) - Folder and Search Options - View and then choose the "Show hidden files, folder, or drives" option and click apply-ok.

Hello Don,
We are installing Alice 2.3 on our Windows 7 PCs. I tried the suggested from your website to extract all files to desktop and then copy to c:\Program Files, in order for all users to see the Alice 2.3 program.

I downloaded to desktop as Administrator on local Windows 7 PC. Extracted to Desktop. Copied Alice 2.3 folder will two executables and Required folder to Program Files; however, I am not able to get different users to see Alice 2.3 under ALL Programs when clicking on Windows icon. Under Windows 7 there is no default user as in Windows XP which is C:\Document & Settings\All users\Desktop.

We would like to have any users who sits down at the Windows 7 PC be able to see Alice 2.3. It does not matter if they see a folder with executables or under All Programs, or pinned to taskbar, as long as any user can find it. When I type in Alice from the "Search Programs and Files" box, it gives too many "alices"

Thanks,
