alice-teacher possible glitch in Alice 2.2 with magician

One of my students is fairly artistic and was positioning the magician just
so for exercise 7 in chapter 4 and discovered that the magician's arm
disappears when repositioning.  We played with it and programming does not
cause problems, just manipulating the object in the scene set up.  Is this
an error?
