alice-teacher make billboard, import forest jpeg, billboard is black?

[Mr. Matthews]

I am completing the 4 part DragonPrincess tutorial off the Duke site. At the end of part 4 you are asked to import the forest jpeg and then the curtain jpeg to complete the project.  Problem is when I import the files the billboard is black.  any ideas?
