alice-teacher Work from PC to Mac

I have been having some problems recently with Alice 2.2 projects running on the Mac computers that were created by the students at home on a PC.   Here are two examples:

One is a large project that gets the following error:
Unable to load world
java.land.outofmemoryerror : Java heap space

We have 4G of Ram on the Mac

The second is a much smaller program with the following error:
Unable to load world
java.io.filenotfoundexception : not found: elementdata.xml


We have been having these types of errors over the last year with transferring from a PC to a Mac

Any suggestions?
