This may be a silly question, but I cannot figure out how to get "Click,
Clack, Moo, Cows That Type" to play. I downloaded it and then I opened
Windows Media, but I've never used Windows Media before so I'm not sure what
to do next.

Lance Allen from Baltimore, MD wishes to share some of the work his students
are doing.
This is a good place to brag on our students, I think.
Our Facebook page might be another place to share work like this.

I teach high school computer science at a private high school in the
Baltimore, Maryland area. I begin my program with 9th graders using the
ALICE software. At the end of the session I require the students to submit a
final project of their own creation. This is one such project:

Midway through the course I ask the students to work in teams and, using a
child's textbook which I provide, they are to animate it. This is an example
of my students work based upon the children's book by Doreen Cronin, "Click,
Clack, Moo, Cows That Type".

If you wish to download the projects they are both rather large. After
de-compressing them you will note they are in .WMV (Windows Media) format.
At first I tried to run the programs in ALICE on a machine with 6 GB of
memory and had problems. I then decided to record them. I can provide the
ALICE source if you wish.
I placed several programming requirements on the students for each
assignment:
1. Variables and parameters are to be used
2. Methods/Functions are to be used
I just thought you might be interested in how some 9th graders are
progressing using the ALICE program as an introduction to Computer Science.
