Textures are 2D graphics images… Have your student import a .jpg, .png. bmp. gif file with the texture they are interested in for the object. They may have to do some manipulation of the image file in an image editor to get it to correctly fit the Alice object in question.

There is no easy way to import 3D objects into Alice. 

This page at www.aliceprogramming.net contains information of the creation and importing of #D models into Alice.

Travis East has a series of tutorials of building and importing objects into Alice 2.2. His website is at:
