Here's an idea for you... In my PC lab, I installed Windows Live Movie Maker. It's free. The students export their movies to video (Quicktime format). Then, they open up Windows Live Movie Maker, add the video and music, and insert transitions and themes. Windows MovieMaker adds one more step of creativity and fun to a lesson. It really makes student projects shine. For some projects, I've made the students create multiple scenes. Because the file sizes tend to get really big when students add detail, I have them save and export after every scene. Then, they use MovieMaker to finish the project. You get high quality work that you can showcase on your school announcements.

(If you have a Mac, try iMovie. It came bundled with the one Mac I have in my room. It is very similar to Windows MovieMaker.)

Windows MovieMaker also lets students upload their files onto Facebook or YouTube. My school blocks them, but yours may not.

There are some really nice video tutorials on YouTube that can teach you how to use both Windows MovieMaker and iMovie.

I hope this helps you.

Not sure why it is not working, but my students created an audio file in Audacity, exported it as a .mp3, and now we are trying to import it into their fairy tale they've created in Alice. They didn't create very difficult animations--only 1 method, etc. but they are really nice...Can't get the music to play while the animation is going.
Attached is one student's example and her music as 2 files.
