Hi everyone, We have Prof. Caglar Yildirim from Northeastern University  
joining us in-person tomorrow at noon in NSH 4201. Please find the talk  
abstract below: From Immersion to Inclusion: The New Frontier of Accessible  
Human-VR Interaction In the rapidly evolving realm of Virtual Reality (VR),  
immersion stands as a hallmark, offering users unparalleled experiences  
that blur the lines between physical reality and virtual reality. Yet, for  
a significant portion of our population, namely individuals with physical  
disabilities, full immersion remains an elusive dream. In this talk, I will  
delve into this pressing challenge, spotlighting the pivotal role HCI plays  
in bridging this divide. As immersive technologies become more and more  
pervasive, it is imperative that HCI researchers and professionals pioneer  
solutions that are not just innovative but also inclusive. This  
presentation will explore the current landscape of VR accessibility,  
highlight the barriers faced by individuals with physical disabilities, and  
underscore the transformative potential of HCI-driven solutions. By  
championing inclusivity in VR design and interaction paradigms, we can  
usher in a new era where VR truly belongs to everyone, irrespective of
