Hi everyone, for the final Access Lunch for the semester, we have Morgan Evans, a Ph.D. student from S3D, who will be presenting on INTENT - an interactive game built on the Transformational Play methodology designed to promote empathy and understanding of autistic co-workers by neurotypical (NT) employees at work.

As usual, the Lunch will be on Monday (Dec 11th) from noon - 1PM at NSH 4201.
The Zoom link for the week will be https://cmu.zoom.us/j/95730003159?pwd=ckFTcjB1Ky9ZZzhwZXlRY0dZdVpaUT09 (please note, not the same link as previous weeks)

Wraps from Choolah will be provided for in-person attendees!

Here’s a blurb from Morgan about her presentation:
—
INTENT: INteractive Tool for Empathy in Neuro-Typicals

Autistic individuals bring significant strengths to the workplace but without the appropriate accommodations and training of their supervisors and coworkers, these  individuals can face barriers resulting in enormous potential left unrealized.

In this talk, I will describe the research, design, and collaboration with a student team from CMU’s Entertainment Technology Center (ETC) towards the development of INTENT, a transformational game, which will be used as an optional employee training to foster understanding and acceptance of autistic people in industry workplaces.

best,
Joon
