Bill,
We would love to see these problem worlds, if you still have copies that you can send us in which this is happening…

One comment, there are times when students will see the angry queen, and they will think they have solved the problem. Perhaps they have but she still might shows up (either because Alice has not cleared the error flag, or their are other issues). In this case they receive a message that allows them to continue with a “silently fail” option. If they accept this option they will no longer see the angry queen, but their program could very well shut down on them if their really is a problem.

Whenever they see the angry queen they should save their work, try to fix the problem, save again, quit Alice and restart. This will clear the error flag, and if they have indeed solved the problem, they will not see the angry queen.
