Dear Colleague,

Please find below details of a tenure-track faculty position at the
Assistant Professor level in Computer Systems in the CSE dept. at UNL.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University
of Nebraska-Lincoln is currently looking for a faculty member who can
establish a strong research and teaching program, and can add to our
existing strengths in the target area of computer systems. Sub-areas
of interest include, but are not limited to: computer architecture,
storage and I/O systems, VLSI and embedded systems, networking, and
distributed systems. Candidates will hold a PhD in Computer Science,
Computer Engineering or closely related discipline.

Candidates must demonstrate potential for excellence and productivity
in research, and a commitment to quality teaching. They will find many
opportunities for research collaborations both within and outside the
Computer Science and Engineering department.

UNL, the flagship university in the Nebraska system, is a
comprehensive research university with Carnegie I standing and
membership in the elite Association of American Universitites.

The CSE Department at UNL consists of 23 tenure-track faculty. The
Department offers BS, MS, and PhD degree programs in both computer
science and computer engineering, and currently enrolls more than 350
undergraduate majors and 100 graduate students. The University of
Nebraska has targeted the CSE Department as a growth area; this has
led to (among other things) the provision of a new building with
state-of-the-art laboratory and classroom facilities, and numerous
graduate fellowships.

Lincoln, the capital of Nebraska, is a progressive, prosperous, city
of about 250,000, that ranks high in quality-of-life. Housing in
Lincoln is high-quality yet affordable, schools are well-funded and
consistently ranked highly, and the city boasts an active theater,
music, and performing arts scene.

To apply, go to http://employment.unl.edu, complete the
Faculty/Administrative application 060793 and attach required
documents. The cover letter should include names of at least three
references and statements of teaching and research. Review of
applications will begin on December 1st, 2006, and will continue until
the position has been filled.

community through affirmative action and equal opportunity and is
