I want to remind people that the deadline for discounted Known World Dance
registration is May 1st, which is only *two weeks* away. If you are thinking of
coming, now is the time to sign up.

We now have a full track of music classes:
Dance and Rhythm in Period, The Renaissance Cittern, Guitar in these Current
Middle Ages, Early Music in Modern Notation, The Modes, Intro to Pipe and Tabor,
Continuing Pipe and Tabor, Designing Multiple Parts to fit a Melody, An Early
Music Sampler, Technique,Tuning, Articulation etc. roundtable.
Dance classes include introductions to various genres, such as:
16th Century Steps, 15th Century Steps,15th c Italian for Beginners, Who Says
Beginners Can't Dance?
New or less familiar material, such as:
Four classes on the Pattricke ms., dances from the Landesdown ms., Quanto
dyspane-- an Italian dance in the Inns of Court.
Gresley ms. dances taught by Emma Dansmeyla and Martin Bildner.
Country dance classes taught by Stefan of Cambion, Evelynne Merrymet, Phillip
White, and Paul the Simple.
16th Century Italian dances, such as:
Torneo Amoroso, Bassa Toscana, Fulgente Stella, Candida Luna, Bizzaria d'Amore
A four hour Buffins (sword dance) workshop
A cross-genre class on recurring motifs in dance
A track of lecture/ discussion classes on topics such as:
Dance sources, Choreography, Calling Dances, Marketing Period Dance, Dancing for
Fighters, Etiquette for Courtiers, Improvisation
We are still looking for Middle Eastern Dance classes
Attendees will also have a chance to meet with the Society Minister of A&S, and
to hear about plans for the next Known World Dance Symposium.
