[SCA-Dance] Fw: KWDS report (What I Did on my Summer Vacation...)

Sir Alan had agreed to speak for our bid, but he has hurt his back and won't be going to Pennsic. I may be able to find someone else, but not before Sunday the 2nd. Since a number of people have said they prefer the weekend, would Sunday evening in the two-hour gap between the end of Dafydd's class and the beginning of the Beginners' Ball be possible? Since I don't go to war, I don't know if it is possible to have such a meeting in the dance tent before the ball starts. Is that feasible, or is there too much involved in setting up for the ball for this location to be practical?

If I have to participate at a distance, is there someone who can help a technically-challenged old woman get hooked up via conference call or web cam or something? (I believe Gwommy had said something about using his phone?)

How are we going to decide the outcome? If three or four bids really are presented, true consensus may not be possible. Are we voting? Are we having a dance-off? (I realize that if it comes down to a dance-off, Mynydd Seren loses if we don't have anyone present to dance for us. However, I've accepted that as a valid tie-breaker before, so I really can't object. It's no crazier than Crown Tourney, right?)

Some plan needs to be decided soon, because I assume some people will already be leaving for war at the end of this week.

I propose the Sat or Sunday August 2nd to catch those of us just
flying in for a few short days, or leaving the 2nd week.
I leave on Monday the 3rd. But I don't have to be there, I'm pretty
sure my pro having annual KWDS as long as there are enough interested
bids is obvious :)

Build a dance hall, and the dancers will come. (Maybe not all the
time, but most of the time.)

Lowrie.
