On the 22nd of April, 2006, there will be a small
workshop in the Shire of Mynydd Seren (Bloomington,
Indiana) called

"Basse e Balli: European dancing from 1400-1550"

There will be classes and discussion sessions through
the day, and a "sideboard" with many dance sources,
both primary and secondary, for you to peruse. In the
evening there will be a ball, containing dances in all
the major styles documented in the period 1400-1550,
and from as many of our sources as we can manage. The
evening sideboard will contain not dry papers (vital
food though they be for dance reserachers) but a
dinner of delicious morsels created from French and
Italian recipes of c. 1500.

We are seeking classes on all aspects of dancing,
dance music, and the cultural settings in which
dancing occured in Europe from 1400-1550. We are
particularly eager for topics, dances and sources that
are rarely covered in the Middle Kingdom.

More information will follow - please get in touch if
you are interested.

yours in service,
Ludwig & Katharine von Regensburg
