As far as I have found, they are posted to the blog, but are not tagged
specifically as court reports. You can search for "court report", but if I
remember what I did correctly, that didn't get them all.

I think I just paged thru to find them.

Greetings, all! I'd like to host a casual largesse craft get-together to take place on July 21st at Highland Park, before and after the barony meeting, starting around noon and ending whenever we wrap up, probably around 3 or 4ish.


I'll have supplies for making bead strings and simple necklaces, felt needle books, felt pouches, and small felt stuffed animals. These projects will be suitable for anyone, about ages 3 and up, who can string beads and/or use a plastic or metal sewing needle (grown-ups highly welcome!!).The sewing projects will range from easy to a bit challenging, all using basic skills, just running and overcast stitches with soft craft felt. This month the BMDL fiber guild is going on a field trip! On Friday July 12 at 7 pm we're going to meet at the Frick museum in Pittsburgh (not the NYC one) to look at and geek about their four early sixteenth century French and Flemish tapestries, and then look at some medieval paintings and artifacts in their collection.

The admission to the rotunda with the tapestries and the general collection is free. 

No flash photography or flashlights allowed. Non flash photography and magnifying glasses are ok. No touching of the tapestries allowed. 

Parking is free in the museum parking lot and adjacent streets. It is one of their summer Fridays festivals so parking in the lot may be tight. On the plus side, there will be food trucks and a free concert (please see their webpage for more info. https://www.thefrickpittsburgh.org/calendar)

The tapestries are amazing, and even if you're not a weaving geek, you can still learn a lot about garb, jewelry, mythology interpretations, and flora of the time. 

I have reached to the museum curator for additional information on the tapestries and will post it separately later.

Yes, it is really Monday. That was the time that worked best since there
are so many events and holidays going on over these weekends.  The people
we talked to at Cooper's didn't seem to mind when we suggested that time.

Hello friends! Story time?. Once upon a time, there was a young lady,
lower-case ?L?, who left her parents? home and found her tribe at a college
fair. These people were lovely and fun and loved all things medieval. They
invited the girl to attend their greatest War, Pennsic, with them, and so
she went. All the sights and smells, and campfires and comeraderie were
truly amazing, but there was one man that stood out above the rest. He was,
even those many years ago, stooped and grey, but still donned armor and
weapons to join Their Majesties? army, which is impressive all by itself.
But the most incredible thing was what happened with this man opened his
mouth and spoke. He spoke deliberately, slowly? and spun tales of adventure
long past, poetry that painted the most beautiful pictures of all aspects
of medieval times, and most greatly, spoke forsoothly of honor, courage,
dreams, chivalry, and all the things that people once were and hope to be
again. This man, named Count Jehan, by his words and bearing and courage,
changed the girl?s tribe from a fun series of activities, into something
magical and true. And as the girl continued her journey with her tribe,
capitalizing her ?L? and further, she saw with her very own eyes and heart,
that Count Jehan made magic and truth throughout the Kingdom and beyond. We
are better with this man.

This year at Pennsic, we celebrate Count Jehan?s Golden Jubillee, Tues of
War Week at 9pm in AE Royal. The celebrants are in dire need of cookies for
a sweet treat at this celebration. Will a few folks volunteer to make and
bring some, please? For Count Jehan.

Reminder about the fiber guild field trip tomorrow: 

This month the BMDL fiber guild is going on a field trip! On Friday July 12 at 7 pmwe're going to meet at the Frick museum in Pittsburgh (not the NYC one) to look at and geek about their four early sixteenth century French and Flemish tapestries, and then look at some medieval paintings and artifacts in their collection.

The admission to the rotunda with the tapestries and the general collection is free. 

No flash photography or flashlights allowed. Non flash photography and magnifying glasses are ok. No touching of the tapestries allowed. 

Parking is free in the museum parking lot and adjacent streets. It is one of their summer Fridays festivals so parking in the lot may be tight. On the plus side, there will be food trucks and a free concert (please see their webpage for more info. https://www.thefrickpittsburgh.org/calendar)

The tapestries are amazing, and even if you're not a weaving geek, you can still learn a lot about garb, jewelry, mythology interpretations, and flora of the time. 

I have reached to the museum curator for additional information on the tapestries and will post it separately later.

I receive the Complete Anachronist every quarter, and was skimming the
latest one, The Eltham Ordinances, containing excerpts from the regulations
by Cardinal Thomas Wolsey intended to curb waste and to control spending by
Henry Vlll and his court.

Sounded pretty heavy and dull, so I put to one side for later. When I
finally picked it up, I found that most of Baroness Matilda of Swynford's
material contained much of interest to cookbook readers and historical
folks.

It covers many topics like Clerks of the Spicery, Master Cooks and Others,
Despoiling of Pleasures and Commodities in Noblemen's and Gentlemen's
Houses, and No Dogs to be Kept in Court -- something for everyone. There
are even charts of expenses for the household, and a chart showing which
day of each month that the Court will be at which of eight locations.

Dear Jennifer Strobel,

Due to the ongoing challenging conditions with weather and wet ground,
Pennsic Staff would like to strongly encourage all campers to hang back and
leave FRIDAY, JULY 26th admission to LAND AGENTS ONLY for Pennsic War 48.

We may need extra time to work through unexpected map difficulties with as
few distractions and displaced people as possible so that we may remain
calm and courteous to one another. NON LAND AGENTS should please delay
arrival to PENNSIC WAR 48 until SATURDAY, JULY 27TH. (Exceptions being
those ride sharing with a Land Agent, or the minor children of Land Agents.
The goal is to reduce the number of CARS and CONFUSTION on site as some
groups may need to move blocks due to uncampable conditions.)

This is not a rule, but a very strong suggestion that all Land Agents are
being asked to pass on at this time.

Previous suggestions to non-Land Agents that "delayed arrival would be
helpful" applied mainly to Troll processing capacity. THIS NOTICE applies
more to the number of vehicles on site before each group has a confirmed
place to set up and we are able to open site to all cars.

The battle field will be soft and easily rutted, and the more cars that
stack up before we can open, the worse condition it will be in for fighting
later. Land Grab is expected to take longer than usual. Land Agents should
REALLY go look at their blocks IN PERSON before approving their maps.

MERCHANTS should continue to defer to the Coopers for set up and arrival
instructions, per usual.

There has been much discussion lately concerning the use of waivers at
demos held by local groups.

After reaching a consensus with the Corporate officers, effective
immediately, waivers are required for demos that allow the public to
participate in combat archery and/or thrown weapons.

At that point, with possibly other activities as well, viewers become
participants and a waiver must be signed.  Minors MUST have their parent or
legal guardian sign such waivers.

The Seneschal?s Handbook will be updated very soon to reflect this policy.

I'm assuming the waivers are for not only combat archery but for combat thrown weapons also. Because the way it reads to me  is combat archery and "regular" thrown weapons.

There has been much discussion lately concerning the use of waivers at demos held by local groups.

After reaching a consensus with the Corporate officers, effective immediately, waivers are required for demos that allow the public to participate in combat archery and/or thrown weapons.

At that point, with possibly other activities as well, viewers become participants and a waiver must be signed.  Minors MUST have their parent or legal guardian sign such waivers.

The Seneschal?s Handbook will be updated very soon to reflect this policy. [...]

I have favor to ask. I can't find my archery repair kit. Did anyone see or find it at the last several practices. It's a small tackle box, tan and green, with a fish on it. I don't remember if I took it to practice or not.
