Greetings!

The next BMDL Fiber Guild Tuesday, February 20, at 7PM, at Songbird Artistry, 4316 Penn Ave. in Lawrenceville.

This month THL Ishiyama will talk to us about Japanese cord braiding and teach us finger loop braiding techniques you can do without a kumihimo stand : "Historical scrolls from Japan show a loop-manipulation style of braiding, but the actual techniques used were not known until fairly recently. They had survived as a folk tradition handed down within families, kept secret because of the high value of the cords created. These techniques are now being revealed to general audiences as "Kute-Uchi" loop braiding.

Hand-loop braiding requires no equipment to get started. With even just five loops of yarn you can learn to make three basic braids."

THL Ishiyama is an experienced researcher and practitioner of cord braiding techniques, has taught numerous classes, and even traveled to Japan to further his knowledge. So it's going to be awesome!

See you all there!

Tea and snacks will be happening. Please do not hesitate to contact me about dietary restrictions.

Luceta
