Greetings! The BMDL Fiber Guild  will have the next meeting on Tuesday, October 17th at 7PM, at Songbird Artistry, 4316 Penn Ave. in Lawrenceville.
This month Mistress Irene will be teaching us about thrummed knitting. What is thrummed knitting? it is knitting with bits of yarn or roving, to make a fuzzy surface. it can then be fulled or felted resulting in super warm hat, mitten or slippers (or even a cloak!) its like making your own fur, but without harming any sheep in the process. So, it is fun, neat looking, sustainable (no sheep were harmed, etc. ...) and period! (please follow the link to the British Museum for a picture of a dashing Dutch sailor in a thrummed hat)

Please bring yarn you want to work with and knitting needles. Roving for thrumming will be provided. if you are not interested in making a thrummed object, please feel free to bring your projects, questions, and anything fiber related!
Tea and snacks will be happening, as always.
(Drinking tea is encouraged but not mandatory. Please contact me about any dietary restrictions.)

Luceta.
