[SCA-BMDL] Non-SCA embroidery classes this winter

This is notice about three non-SCA classes this winter that seem very 
interesting if you are like embroidery. The instructor Mistress Raefnn 
does beautiful work and has her Laurel.

The Art of the Needle: Goldwork, January 31* and February 1

    This workshop will introduce students to a sampling of medieval and 
Renaissance techniques for embroidering metal threads. Working on a 
modern design, students will have the chance to sample historic and 
modern materials. *This two-day workshop is scheduled such that those 
attending Steltonwald 12th Night will have time to change and drive over 
before cocktail hour begins.

The Art of the Needle: Crewelwork, February 21 and 22

    Crewelwork is a versatile embroidery that combines vibrant colors 
and a myriad of  stitches.  It is easily adaptable to any design. This 
workshop teaches  the basics of crewel embroidery using a set project. 
Students will be learn essential stitches, as well as how to set up and 
finish their work. This is an introductory workshop suitable both for 
those looking to learn crewelwork and those new to embroidery. This is a 
two-day workshop.

The Art of the Needle: Variations on a Stitch, March 14

    Know a stitch or two but stumped on how to proceed? Looking to move 
beyond  your current skill set? This workshop will teach you how small 
changes  to a simple stitch can produce varied and unexpected results. 
Stitchers of all levels are welcome.

Each class starts on a Saturday and finishes that weekend. Registration 
is open now.
