and Baroness of the Debatable Lands held at BMDL 12th Night January 12 AS
47 Lord Jorundr hinn Rotinn, Comet Pursuivant, reporting, with the
assistance of Mistress Arianna of Winthrope.

Their Excellencies invited Lady Elss of Augsburg to address the populace.
Lady Elss wished to express her thanks to the many people who helped make
the event a success and to remind those present to claim their property
before leaving so that it does not become part of next year's Auction of
fun.

Their Excellencies next allowed Mestari Urho Waltterinen to address the
populace. Urho had run a grand contest of cookies this day as had become
custom, and as with every competition there were some winners to be
recognized. The Baron's Choice went to THL Myfanwy ferch Rhiannon for her
Saffron Cardamon Macaroons. The Baroness' Choice was Mestari Urho
Waltterinen for his Ginger Snaps. The King of Misrule's Choice was Lady
Bugga Bilibit for her Greek Clove Crescents. The Queen of Misrule's Choice
was Lady Abbatissa de Banneberri for her Tangerine Meringue Medallions. The
Populace Choice was Countess Rosalinda of Castille for her Chocolate Chips,
Peanut Butter, Toffee Cookies.

Their Excellencies addressed the populace as there had been an Arts and
Sciences Competition to determine the next champion of the Barony. There
were many fine entries into this competition, however a winner must be
chosen. This year Their Excellencies decided to name a second for Their
champion to stand in place in case of them not being able to perform their
normal duties. Their Excellencies decided to name Lady Sumayya al Ghaziyya
to the position as second to the Arts and Sciences Champion, and They name
THL Ishiyama Gentarou Yori'ie the Arts and Sciences Champion of the Barony
with a done by Odriana vander Brugghe.

Their Excellencies next called Lady Bugga Bilibit to address the populace.
Bugga had served the past year as Bardic Champion and had performed her
duties with with great skill even enduring extremely violent winds and a
tent that sought to escape to perform in the Seven Pearls Bardic
Competition. On this day there was a tournament to select a successor to
Bugga's title, the competition was excellent and the entries were good
enough that it was a difficult decision, a decision was made however, The
Debatable Bards were named the second to the Bardic Champion, and Master
William de Montegilt scroll calligraphy by THL Kieran MacRae.

Their Excellencies had further business with Lady Bugga Bilibit and thus
They bade her to tarry a while. Their Excellencies had been very pleased
with all of Bugga's good works, she had taught the populace Latin so that
they might sing a period song with her, and her participation in the Seven
Pearls Competition. Thus did They induct her into the Order of the
Blue-Silver Comet scroll layout by Maitress Yvianne de Castel d'Avignon
illumination by Leaena calligraphy by Odriana vander Brugghe.

Their Excellencies invited Lady Isabel Fleurtan to bring the words of Their
Signet Odriana vander Brugghe to the populace. Odriana wished to thank the
many scribes of the barony who have donated of their time and talent so
that the many awards that have been given out could all have an appropriate
scroll handed out with them with a token.

Their Excellencies called THL Juan Miguel to attend them. Juan Miguel had
caught Their Excellencies eye as he does not live in the barony, yet is
often to be found working on archery ranges and many other tasks at
baronial events, and as there in something that Their Excellencies can do
in this situation, They inducted Juan into the Order of the Green Comet.

Their Excellencies spied Guion ab Wilim as he stood in Their Court and as
They had words with this gentile They bade him to step before Them. Guion
has shown much skill in youth fighting, skill so great that he had been
named Youth Fighting Champion of the barony for this and his dedication to
youth fighting and helping train newer youth fighters. For this They added
Guion's name to the rolls of the members of the Order of the Purple Comet
scroll by Countess Aidan ni Lear. There were also scrolls to mark Guion's
position as Youth Fighting Champion first by Mistress Arianna of Winthrope
second in progress with Caligraphy by Mistress Kris Gilibari and
Illumination by Lady Elizabeth Arrowsmith.

Next Their Excellencies summoned Icile of the Debatable Lands to attend
them. Icile had impressed Their Excellencies with her performance,
especially with her earnings as a street performer at Pennsic the first
time she tried this deed. Icile has also been known to perform works of
service within the barony as a retainer, standard bearer and most
importantly keeper of the Baronial Octopus, scroll illuminated by Odriana
vander Brugghe and calligraphed by THL Kieran MacRae.

Their Excellencies asked Lady Ceindrech verch Elidir to attend Them.
Ceindrich had performed many services both to the Barony as a whole and to
Their Excellencies directly, she had worked to save Their Excellencies tent
from blowing away during a sudden wind storm during Pennsic while They were
away from camp, Ceindrich had also stepped up to take on the roles of youth
fighting marshal, and chirurgeon. For this Their Excellencies made
Ceindrich a member of the Order of the Gold Comet, scroll by Mistress
Arianna of Winthrope.

Their Excellencies summoned Gwen Telynores to attend Them. Gwen had been
doing many good works in the barony, she had served as a royal gate guard,
gurad and retainer at Pennsic, and she was able to escape the horrifying
sump monster on the final day of Pennsic. For this and many others Their
Excellencies inducted her into the Order of the Gold Comet, scroll by Fa
Ren Zhang Ming Li.

Their Excellencies called Kenneth of the Debatable Lands before Them. Their
Excellencies admired the courtesy and chivalry that Kenneth displayed at
all times, and his skills in youth fighting for many years. For this They
inducted him into the Order of the Red Comet, scroll illuminated by Master
Alaric MacConal with calligraphy by Rachel Dalicieux, medallion made by his
mother, Mistress Arianna of Winthrope.

Their Excellencies had works to speak to Jocelyn of Tyburn and thus had her
come before Them. Jocelyn had helped in many kitchens and had further
served in the baronial encampment at Pennsic. For this They inducted her
into the Order of the Gold Comet, scroll by Countess Aiden ni Leir.

Their Excellencies called Sir Thomas Byron of Haverford and Baroness
Ariella of Thornbury to come and speak with Them. Their Excellencies had
noticed that Their Excellencies had continued to do good works in the
barony after they had stepped down from their former position as Baron and
Baronness just over a year ago, and they had on numerous occasions opened
their home to the populace to host events, regional musters and barony
meetings. For this service Their Excellencies added them to the membership
of the Order of the Gold Comet, scroll illuminated by Lady Isabel Fleurtan
with calligraphy by THL Kameshima Zentarou Umakai. Their Excellencies had
further words to have with Byron and Ariella. There was a matter of
property, specifically the castle that Bryon and Ariella currently
occupied. As this castle is located on baronial lands it rightly belongs
to the seated Baron and Baroness of the Debatable Lands. Byron and Ariella
declared that this castle was their's by right and they would not cede it
without a fight. The Baron found this to be well and good, and so the
forces will meet on August 24 at the disputed castle and the matter of
ownership will be put to rest.

Their Excellencies had words for Master Alaric MacConal and so called him
to attend Them. Alaric has served the barony for many years, and he has
never stopped serving the barony, as troll, as archery marshal, as
autocrat, and as mentor to new autocrats. Their Excellencies believe that
this level of continued service deserved special notice, and as Their
Excellencies had created an order for just this purpose a year ago and had
intentions to add one new member to the order each year from those who best
described the ideal of continued high level service within the Barony. For
this Their Excellencies inducted Alaric into the Baronial Order of
Excellence, promissory scroll with calligraphy by THL Kameshima Zentarou
Umakai and illumination by Faiol MacGeroit, scroll in progress by Maitress
Yvianne de Castel d'Avignon.

Their Excellencies demanded Lord Pavel Dudoladov to attend Them. They
thanked Pavel for his years of service as Comet Pursuivant, and wished that
his retirement would go well as he moved on to serve the Kingdom as
Cornelian Herald.

Baron Liam had further words for the populace, the day was fair and all was
well, however this state of affairs was not to remain much longer. War was
looming on the horizon, and AEthelmearc's allies to the south were besieged
thus would He lead the baronial levies south to Gulf Wars, and Pennsic was
just around the corner where the Kingdoms of the East and Middle would
bring their petty squabbles into our lands, for this Baron Liam challenged
the populace to show up and represent the barony in every way during these
wars.

Court Closed.
