[SCA-BMDL] BMDL Youth Fighter Practice in BUTLER this weekend

Greetings to all Youth Fighters and their parents!


This week's practice is at the Regional Muster in Butler, hosted by the Shire of Sunderoak, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. We will NOT be at the Chinese Church this week! 

Please note the earlier start time of 1:00.

Depending on where you live, either Rt. 8 North directly into Butler or else Rt. 79 North to Rt. 422 East are probably your best routes from Pittsburgh.

We will have youth rattan at this muster! Mistress Jenna, AEthelmearc Kingdom Youth Marshall, and her husband, Magister Calvert, will be bringing 1" rattan for sale at approximately $11 per 9 ft. stave. This is a fantastic price - if you try to buy it elsewhere online, it runs $15-20 a stave plus shipping, and local martial arts stores ask $25-30 for 6 ft. staves - so if you are a Division 2 or 3 fighter, I highly recommend that you pick up a stave this weekend. You can get three swords (or a sword, a great weapon, and a dagger) out of a 9 ft. piece of rattan. I will be getting 10 staves to sell to baronial youth fighters, thanks to the barony providing the front money. We are required to switch from PVC to rattan for all Division 2 and 3 weapons as of the end of March, so this is the perfect time to replace your old PVC weapons! 

Note thatDivision 1 fighters will still use golf tube weapons for now, though there is some discussion about moving to more durable materials. More information as I get it.  

We'll have loaner gear for any new fighters who need it. I have a limited number of hockey helmets, so if you can provide your own, we would appreciate it.

Feb. 19 - Practice atRegional Muster in Butler PA, with rattan for sale!
Feb. 26 - Practice at the Chinese Church
March 4 - Practice at the Chinese Church
March 11 - Practice at the Chinese Church
March 18 - Practice at the Chinese Church
