[SCA-BMDL] CMU Fighting Schola, Wed 6:30-8:30

Greetings to those interested in heavy weapons fighting in the Society for
Creative Anachronism.

  We will be hosting a Fighting Schola at Carnegie Mellon, every other
*Wednesdays,
6:30-8:30,* starting this coming Wednesday.  I would like to invite anyone
interested in learning more about the basics of fighting to join us
(students will have priority in borrowing loaner armor).  Much of the class
will be unarmored, so feel free to come to learn more, even if you are
hesitant to hop into armor.  Experienced fighters, I would like to invite
you to join us to teach and spar with newcomers (bring armor, and extra
weapons).

We have some excellent teachers lined up!
Here is the tentative schedule.
9/14  Intro to the SCA, armor, and SCA fighting - Hilda and Cynewyn
9/28  Basics of attack and defense - His Highness Sir Isenwulf
10/12  Japanese fighting styles - Shiro
10/26   Spear fighting in singles and melee  - Bors
11/9  Melee tactics and shieldwork

You can park on Frew street just after the library ($3 to feed the meter and
not risk a ticket) or at Phipps for free (its closed at that time).
