Hi everyone,

I believe this is the site that Myfanwy was referring to:

If you'd like to read the article about the site it is: http://news.cs.cmu.edu/article.php?a=2272

The site to upload photos can be found at: http://rodasproject.org/#/

I already placed repair requests at all four of the other sites mentioned.  I hope we can get a timely response from the city pothole team...I'm really looking forward to "The Throwing of the Sharp and Pointy Things!

Also, try this one - the Mayor's pothole hotline:

http://www.city.pittsburgh.pa.us/mayor/html/pothole.html

They say, "It is our goal to address pothole requests within 5 working days.  Please submit your information on the form below.  We appreciate your help in keeping our streets safe!"

Let's see if that's true!

Sorry, I probably should have said; the Practice Site is a section of Highland Park that I don't believe has an official name. The best way to comment would be to state the Parking Area nearest to the intersection of Washington and Allegheny River Blvds.

Thanks for everyones help.

Thanks, Liam.

Is there an address or official name for the park land we use there? I want to be specific as possible. (This space is still officially part of Highland park, right?)

Greetings to All;

Very soon, Archery, Thrown Weapons, Fencing and Heavy Fighter practice will return to Washington Blvd. Last Year, many of us asked the City of Pittsburgh to do something to repair the then 18 inch deep hole at the entrance to the parking lot which makes it difficult to get in or out of the lot itself. When I wrote to the Mayor's Service center regarding this problem Last

Summer, I was advised that there was a plan to make that repair in the
fall of last year.

I had the opportunity to drive past the site yesterday and the 18 inch deep hole is now deeper and wider. I would like to encourage as many people as possible, and most especially City Residents to contact the Mayor's Service Center? as well as the Councilman for that district Patrick Dowd. I have provided links to their pages below.

Thanks for your help, I'm sure this will do well to save us and other residents in Tires, Axles and Ball joints.

Liam

Greetings from Myfanwy!
Here's a related note: I heard an interesting thing on the radio today, on KQV.
Every so often they do live interviews with various people and this afternoon

they talked to some CMU professor about a project where you can take a cell
phone photo of potholes you see in the city and then upload it to a website
(sorry -- I didn't catch the URL).  The GPS in your phone transmit the pothole

co-ordinates to Google Maps and shows the pothole as a red dot on the map,
then (after the City has gotten them filled) the dots are changed to green ones.
The interviewee was a Professor of Economics (?) and Policy Management.  The

idea for the project came from a graduate exchange student from Chile
(apparently, in her country they have contests every year for Biggest Pothole!)
and then other people did the coding for the website.
If you Google "pothole project" you can find articles that were in the _Pittsburgh

Tribune-Review_ and in the _Post-Gazette_.  The project is called "Rodas" (for
Road Damage Assessment System) and it's apparently done through a Facebook
account.
