[SCA-BMDL] ZOO DEMO - Youth Fighting this Sunday

Greetings to all Youth Fighters and their parents!

This Sunday, Debatable Lands Youth Combat practice will be held at the Pittsburgh ZOO! 

Youth Fighting will be part of the big demonstration we are doing for the zoo on Father's Day. In addition to youth fighting, there will be adult fighting and fencing, A&S displays, and performances by the Debatable Choir. Basically, we will be "performing" for the public, and hopefully providing them with an education about the Middle Ages as well.

Participants will get into the zoo free that day, AND receive 2 vouchers for free zoo admission on any other day of your choice.

When: Sunday, June 19  from 11am to 3pm (you can arrive at 10 to haul gear into the zoo)

We will be fighting in an indoor, AIR CONDITIONED room! 

Since this is a demo, please wear garb when you are not in armor. It would be nice if every fighter had a tunic underneath their armor, rather than a T-shirt. While youth fighters will not be required to speak to the public, any of you who are comfortable doing so are welcome to explain your armor, weapons and fighting techniques to the audience, especially the kids.

***IMPORTANT*** because we will be hauling a lot of gear a fair distance into the zoo, I will NOT be bringing the loaner armor! If you need to borrow armor or weapons, please let me know ahead of time so I can bring specific items for you. I will NOT be able to transport entire sets of armor.

June 25 (Saturday)Academy and War College Event, which includes Youth Combat.
