Whan that aprill with his shoures soote
The droghte of march hath perced to the roote
 And...

Oh heck, Middle English. But! If you're planning to take pilgramage to the
Canterbury Tales event in the Barony Marche of the Debatable Lands on March
31 (an event I highly recommend), here is the fare offered by the
Chanticleer tavern:

Lunch

Choice of soup
Perre (vegetarian pea soup)
Egerdouce of Beef (beef soup with onions and herbs)
Tartelettes (pork ravioli in meat broth, or cheese tortellini in vegetable
broth)

Cheese frittours
Eggs in the manner of your choice (poachd, fried, plain or onion omelet)
Green Salat
Pokenouce (honey toast with pine nuts) or Pain Pardu (french toast with
sugar and sweet powder)
Apple and pear pie.

Dinner
Choice of soup (same as the lunch soups)

Choice of
Alows of beef (rolls of beef stuffed with onions and herbs)
Chicken in Hocchee (chicken cooked with a stuffing of herbs, garlic, and
grapes)
Tart on Ymber Day (Cheese and onion tart)

Butter Worts (cooked greens with butter)
Fungus (ah, yes, the fungusamongus -- mushrooms cooked in broth with leeks
and hot spices)

Choice of Macrows (noodles and cheese) or rice. (rice...)

Selection of cryspes and frittours.

Lunch AND dinner will be served all day; you just need to give your order
(and your dishes) to the lovely tavern wenches when you're ready to eat,
and they will bring your hot meal right to you.

Don't forget the other events:
  Crestfallen tourney
Bardic competion on a travelling theme
  Quests!
  A&S
  Dancing, music, and fun.

Hope to see you there!

toodles, margaret
