It's almost time to restart Archery!

Weather permitting, we'll begin outdoor practice at the Washington Boulevard site on Sunday, April 2nd. Practice will start at 11:00 and continue to one or two o'clock when the fencers and fighters begin. I'll probably be there a little early to get started with site clean-up (help is appreciated) but we will get plenty of shooting in.

The most preliminary weather forecast is calling for temperatures in the high fifties or low sixties with a chance of rain.

This year I plan to set up two targets or ranges. One will feature the usual bulls-eye, but the other will have novelty targets. Some will get us ready for competitions with wands and wreaths, but others will be just fun, like the dragon poster we shot at the last practice last year. Thanks to Josh or Ian and Neal, we have also often had a shorter range setup for the juniors.

Also does anyone have plans for a simple catapult or trebuchet? I'm planning a novelty/competition shoot for later this year and need to assemble one.

As always, I'll have plenty of loaner equipment for both juniors and seniors.

Don't forget to brings chairs and water! There are no facilities. (We'll be lucky if we get the whole parking lot back.)

Starting in May, archery will be featured at several events include Will's Revenge on May 5th through the 7th hosted by the Shire of Abhainn Ciach Ghlais (that's in Berwick, PA).

I'll send out another email later this week as we get a better idea on Sunday's forecast.

In service to the Barony-Marche,

Urho Waltterinen
