I am very embarrassed as I write this.  The following message was writtn by 
me several weeks ago, and after a conversation with a friend, I realized I 
had never actually sent it. I beg your and his forgiveness:


Greetings to the people of Aethelmearc and the Debatable Lands,

There are many of you who know Lothar Hugelman, and many of you who don't.  
You also may or may not know that, last summer, he joined the proud ranks of 
the Marine Corps.  He is being shipped to Iraq very soon.  Before he left, I 
received a call from him, and he bid me write these lists and say this to 
you:

"I, Lothar, son of Aethelmearc, go to fight the good fight.  Aethelmearc and 
its people are always in my heart, and it is as hard to leave my Kingdom as 
it is to leave my own family. Don't worry, though, I have no Achilles Heel, 
I am a bulletproof U. S. Marine!

And "Hi!" to Ro, Margaret (Sarah), and Bernie."

He also asks that anyone who wants to, please write, whether you know him or 
not.  He'd like to keep up on current events.  Letters are like gold in the 
desert, and it's getting more dangerous every day (my words, not his).  His
