[SCA-BMDL] Crown Tourney Silent Auction - a plea from Kazi

   Greetings, everyone!

I wonder if I could please ask all of you for a favor. There will be a
silent auction at the Crown Tourney to benefit hurricane victims. A lady
named Meghyn (formerly known as Michelle) is running it. She is concerned
about not having enough items to auction. Being fairly new in the SCA, she
seems to feel shy about asking for donations - she already sent one
announcement week ago, hopefully she will send a reminder. This young lady
is chewing her nails right now, and I won't be there to help.

Since some of you will be at the Crown, whether as entrants or spectators,
do you think you could look through your SCA closets for donation items, if
you already haven't done so? Are any of you willing to bring donation items
from BMDL to the Crown Tourney? I will do another sweep for stray unwanted
stuff, plus I will be happy to donate a sturdy container.

The items auctioned off last weeked at Harvest Raid were a mixed bag;
daggers, maille coif, books, children's toys, garb (even unfinished),
fabric, scented soaps, boxes, pouches, hats, old shoes, feast gear, scribal
goods. Many items were small and eclectic. There were 6 tables, heavily
laden. I thought it would never move, but within the two hours before the
closing of the auction, people went into a feeding frenzy and started
bidding against one another, sometimes on the least likely items, and fun
was had by all. A box of remaining auction items will go to the Crown
Tourney with Lady Eo, Sir Rowan's squire.

If you are able to donate or transport auction items, it would be of great
help. If you can do it, could you please let Lady Meghyn know of your
effort? Her e-mail address is "Wallen, Michelle M [WallenMM at Corning.com]".
I am sure she would feel much more at ease, knowing that we "know of her".

Thank you so very much. I hope you enjoy the Crown Tourney.

Kazi
