OpenSeadragon, VIPS, and Mirax

Hello,

I am trying to display a Mirax slide using open seadragon, as seen here.

I have downloaded the CMU-1 Mirax files from
http://openslide.cs.cmu.edu/download/openslide-testdata/Mirax/

Using VIPS and OpenSlide, I performed vips dzsave command to create a DZI
version of CMU-1.

The slide data seems good, except for the background appearing black
instead of white. Is there a setting to change this?
