openslide-python ubuntu 12.04

Hi!

Openslide is a fantastic initiative! I'm working on Ubuntu 12.04 (64bit), I installed open slide-tools via apt-get and downloaded the python open slide bindings and ran setup.py install. Unfortunately I am running into a problem when importing:

openslide.lowlevel.OpenSlideError: OpenSlide >= 3.3.0

I also tried compiling the latest source code with:

./configure
make
make install

I must be doing something wrong but can't see what it is!
