Hello, I'm the vips maintainer.

There's a new stable version out, 7.32. It includes an updated pyramid
builder that can make DeepZoom, Zoomify and Google Maps pyramids. It can
read via openslide, so it should work for any openslide-supported image
file. Thanks to a lot of hard work by many people it's about 3 or 4 times
faster than the pyramid builder in the previous vips version. There have
been quite a few bugfixes too.
