Hi All,
I will be travelling on Wednesday 4/17, and there will be no class
Wednesday 4/17. To make up for the missed class I will have an online
lecture tomorrow (Tuesday 4/16) at 10:00AM covering Greens theorem. (I
will almost certainly not be able to finish the proof, and will finish
it on Friday.)
Like last time, I will lecture on Zoom. If you are interested in
watching it live, then download / install Zoom, and join the meeting
with ID
4122688419
(You can also do this from your browser.) Please keep your mike muted if
you are not asking a question (clicking / turning pages causes lots of
feedback).
If you can't join live, the video will be posted on the class website
shortly, along with a PDF of everything I write.
Best,
Gautam
PS: If you join live please feel free to ask questions. I can not see
the chat window easily. But just say something and interrupt me at
any point.
PPS: I talked to Yudong after class and he was right. A much shorter way
to prove that \tilde \gamma^{-1} \circ \gamma is C^1 is to realize
that locally this is the same as the composition of the dth
coordinates of each of these functions, and then use the one
variable inverse function theorem.

common situation in later life when the photocopier breaks and you
really need part of a book you aren't allowed to borrow.
