Hi All,
1. I fixed the broken link to the Dancer / Niethammer book. (That will
only help you towards the middle of the semester though).
2. Given how limited lecture time is, I am very selective about what I
present in class. While it is possible to do the homework using only
what I've said in class, it is not easy! Though it's fun to try :)
If you would like more information use the references on the website.
Last year, some students told me about the book by Abbot (listed
online, about $40). The book is available legally and freely through
our library. Here's the link:
https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-1-4939-2712-8
In the first two (possibly 2.5) weeks I will cover the essentials of
chapters 1, 2, 3 AND 4 in a "nonlinear" order! I recommend reading
through the sections of this book that correspond to what I did in
class.
3. A schedule of topics I will cover is on the class website. You may
correlate that with pretty much any good analysis / calculus book you
like, and use that for a reference if you prefer.
