suddenly 'User unknown'?

Not a cyrus issue. Apparently sendmail strips the domain as you see in 
lines like "RCPT To:<brad>"

Your cyrusv2 Mailer in sendmail.mc seems correct to me.

What do you get from (you can skip all the line for user root)

sendmail -d21.1 -bv brad at bradcan.homelinux.com
