chk_cyrus

Hello,

I try to ask help about some oddities I see on Cyrus. Days ago the
storage with Cyrus-2.4.16 froze instantaneously. I did a reboot and
Cyrus restart with success.

I did a reconstruct over a mailbox that didn't see last few mails
received on the day, but reconstruct -rf wan not sufficient.
Reconstruct gave no errors, also in log was all fine. The mails were
in file system, and were not delayed expunged (unexpunge -l was
empty). But I could not see these mails through IMAP.
I have to restore the cyrus.index from a yesterday backup, and then
make the reconstruct to finally see the mails in IMAP Inbox.
Is this an expected situation? Is it good to restore metadata from
backup before run reconstruct?

After reboot I run chk_cyrus. I see that some cyrus_lock files have
'root' ownership. Does this happen because I run chk_cyrus as root?
I always run these tools as root, I had never seen change in ownership...

Thanks again
Bye
Marco
