Yes, i use this procedure and works fine.

I have some problems with some mailboxes.
To solve i remove cyrus.* ( .index, .squat, .cache )
and run a reconstruct in this mailbox.

Yes, i test this procedure with a server with 1000 mailboxes.

No big problem with upgrades from 2.3.16 to 2.4.X
