libsasl2.so is in /usr/local/lib, and ldd reports that the link is good:

bash-3.00$ ldd /usr/cyrus/bin/sync_server
        libsasl2.so.2 =>         /usr/local/lib/libsasl2.so.2
        ...

It's sasl 2.1.22, and it was built with the following options (from
config.status):

./configure '--enable-login' '--without-des'
