Starting cyrus - what output should I see?

you probably want to use '-d' instead of '&' to make master run in  
the background.

After that you can look in log files for cyrus. The location of the  
log file depends on your syslog.conf ( I think wherever local6.*  
points to).

Any problems should be reported there.
