undefined reference to `txn_id'

I'm using Slackware too.

BDB headers and BDB library should have the same version. (And this
version  should match the one used in compiling SASL ).

Look in the output from "make all" for command line of gcc and ld !


If nothing else helps:  move unneeded BDB libraries and headers to
some directory, run ldconfig, compile cyrus software, move libraries
and headers back, run ldconfig again. (And make sure that no  user,
daemon etc which need a different BDB is started while compiling
cyrus)
