What causes DBERROR db4: PANIC: Invalid argument?

I'm using the defaults, which means the mailbox DB is skiplist.  I'm
assuming the mailbox DB was hosed because the "ctl_mboxlist -d" didn't work
before I ran the recover command and did work afterwards.
