Recommendations for Thunderbird settings when it hangs copying to "sent folder"

This isn't a problem with Cyrus or TB, its a problem with your NAT 
router "closing" idle connections.  In TB under the advanced server 
settings, try changing the number of cached connections to 0 or 1, and 
disable the use of the IDLE command.
