Not able to create mailbox with fully qualified userid

Thank you for your promt response. I tried what you suggested, set the
loginrealms, turned up my logging, ran cyrus-makedirs (Debianese for
mkimap) and it changed nothing. Logs don't give a hint. In fact, they
don't mention this falure at all. This is what makes it a bit tricky.
There seem to be no obvius indicators as to the reason for this behaviour.
