Mailbox Administration issues

Any help on this issue please. I added the unixhierarchysep:yes entry
, stopped both Cyrus and Postfix, recreated all the Cyrus folders.

/var/imap

/var/spool/imap

/usr/sieve

and then logged in to create the folders.

cyradm --user cyrus --server localhost --auth plain

and now when I use lm I dont see any folders. 

Trying to create user gives permissions error and when I run the command

createmailbox user\imran.aziz

the user created is 

userimran.aziz (\HasNoChildren)

what am I doing wrong? 

please help me with this.
