Compiling IMAP

Anyone seen this error?I have only the GNU compiler. All other sub-directories compile fine. I have CC=gcc in my env. Tried 'make all CC=gcc', same result.
It seems Makefile.PL is generated from lib/ExtUtils/MakeMaker.pm. Is that a requirement to compile Cyrus IMAP?
