imapd -s does not seem to be responding

I am running redhat fedora 3 at the lates update level. When I first
installed Redhat fedora 3, I used imapd -s just find.
In mozilla, I would specify port 993 and I would get loggons to my
imap server.
Now I can only get mail from port 147, which is the non ssl imap.
so imap with out ssl works just fine, but Imap with ssl, just seems not
to be listening.
Any ideas on why 147 would work and 993 would not work.
By the way, both show up in the netstat -a list as listening
