Don't know what all you did with your Fedora Core 3 installation. From
previous posting it was to be seen that you did something strange with
xinetd and an imap service which does not exist in FC3. Check the
permissions of /var/spool/imap/stage.

$ ls -ld /var /var/spool /var/spool/imap /var/spool/imap/stage.
drwxr-xr-x  22 root  root 4096 Oct  7 10:04 /var
drwxr-xr-x  23 root  root 4096 Oct  7 10:18 /var/spool
drwx------   9 cyrus mail 4096 Dec  2 14:47 /var/spool/imap
drwx------   2 cyrus mail 4096 Jan 10 23:17 /var/spool/imap/stage.
