Postfix+Cyrus - Blank message-id: header results in bounced

How would I go about telling postix to insert a message-id if one is not
there?  It DOESN'T do that now.  With Postfix+Dovecot I get the message
with no message-id.  I can see postfix's cleanup running and that appear
to be what I'd want to run against these messages before they got to
cyrus.  Someone must else must have seen this and fixed it before.
