Why don't you use ldapdb here
sasl_pwcheck_method: auxprob
sasl_auxprob_plugin: ldapdb

> sasl_ldap_servers: ldap://localhost/ ldaps://localhost/

> sasl_ldap_password: xxx

You mix ldap and ldapdb. Just take ldapdb.
