CYRUS IMAP on MAC OS X 10.4.2

I m using MAC OS X 10.4.2 server
The problem i have is with the Cyrus IMAP

the error message is
DBERROR: critical database situation

because of that the user cannor access their mail using squirellmail
that come with the server


ERROR : Could not complete request.
Query: SELECT "INBOX"
Reason Given: System I/O error

 
OS used :MAC OS X 10.4.2 server
Is the problem with Cyrus IMAP or the squirrelmail itself?
Any body has any idea?
