Which (for completeness of this thread) can be set using cyradm:

imap.server> mboxconfig Trash expire 5
imap.server> info Trash
{Trash}:
  expire: 5
  lastupdate: 27-Apr-2005 04:00:40 -0300
  partition: default
  size: 0
  squat: false
imap.server>
