Some mail messages never get delivered...

G'Day,
- I have imapd 1.5.19-9.1 installed on a Debian system. All my mail
is stored on the IMAP server and I use Outlook 2002 and Thunderbird on my
work and home machine's interchangeably to manage my mail. I have suspected
that some messages that people have sent to me never actually make it into
the mail client. When I had a look on the Debian box today (after Outlook
AND Thunderbird) claim there are no messages for me that there are a heap of
seemingly "stale" messages there. See listing that appears at the end of
this message. So seemingly the indexes on the server are messed up or
something else is going on. So my questions are as follows:
1. Is this a known bug
2. How do I prevent this happening? Is there anything I can do on the
server or is there something to be done in Outlook / Tunderbird?
